Senior Planning believes in giving back. We have chosen to help ensure the next generation of medical social workers are ready to provide the care that American seniors will need. Senior Planning shall, at the end of each application period, make between one and five awards, depending on the number of deserving applicants and the amount of funds available.

Masonic-Range Science Scholarship–Deadline January 1, 2019

The Society for Range Management (SRM) Masonic-Range Science Scholarship offers financial assistance and recognition to a high school senior, college freshman or college sophomore planning to major in/presently majoring in range science and/or closely related field. The recipient of the scholarship must be planning to attend or be currently in attendance at a college or university with a range science program.

Applicants must be sponsored by a member of the Society for Range Management (SRM), the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD), or the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS). The scholarship is awarded by the Masonic-Range Science Scholarship Committee (MasCom), which is a subcommittee of the SRM Student Activities Committee. The MasCom will select and announce the recipient(s) at the SRM Annual Meeting held in February each year.

GE Reagan Foundation Scholarship–Deadline January 4, 2019

Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.

Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate study and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program.

BigSun Scholarship–Deadline June 19, 2019

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.   Their participation may be in any capacity, whether as a player, coach or official.

The successful applicant will be a high school senior or be attending a post secondary institute and currently involved in some sport at that institution or in the community.

AXA Achievement Scholarship–Deadline December 14, 2018

The AXA Achievement Scholarship provides over $1.4 million in scholarships to young people throughout the nation representing all 50 states, Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Students have the opportunity to receive a $2,500, $10,000 or $25,000 scholarship. In addition, for every student who wins a scholarship, a grant in the amount of $1,000 will be made to the winner’s school.

NRA Scholarships–Deadline December 31, 2018

The NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund continues its yearly Youth Essay Contest celebrating the Second Amendment as an integral part of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Essays will be judged in two categories: Senior (grades 9-12) and Junior (grades 8 and below), with separate cash prizes awarded to the winners in each category. First place cash prizes are $1,000, $600 for second place, $200 for third place, and $100 for fourth place.

The entry deadline for this contest is December 31. Entries postmarked by December 31 will be accepted. Essay contest winners will be selected and notified in early 2018. All entries become the property of the NRA Civil Rights Defense Fund.

The Coolidge Scholarship for current JUNIORS–Deadline January 23, 2019

As a quick refresher, the Coolidge Scholarship is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that may be used by recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited college or university in the United States. Any high school junior who plans on enrolling in college in the fall of 2020 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply (unfortunately current high school seniors are not eligible to apply).

Hispanic Heritage Month Art & Essay Contests (Grades 4-5, 6-8, 9-12)

Contest is open to all 4th through 12th grade students in the state of Florida. Three winners will be selected: one elementary (4-5) student, one middle (6-8) student, and one high school (9-12) student.

Awards: Winners will receive a 4-Year Florida College Plan scholarship provided by Florida Prepaid College Foundation. Winners will receive awards at Governor Rick Scott and First Lady Ann Scott’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration to be held in Tallahassee. Reasonable travel and lodging expenses will be paid for the winners and one immediate family member. Winners will be notified after September 19, 2017.
